This wine cella, formerly frequented
by seamen, is today a very hype place among young people. La Cave de la
Guignette, is a real wine cellar with an authentic decor as it was in
the past. Sat on a stool close to a wood barrel you can enjoy one of the
house specialties: la guignette, a wine & fruit-based apéritif.
Delicious and treacherous if you drink it in excess.
Numerous versions are proposed:
La Verte (apple)
La Josie
La Rouge (red fruits)
La Babord (vanilla)
Le Rince-Goret (citrus fruits)
Tribord (slightly acid).
Although its clientele is quite varied, la Cave de la Guignette is mainly
a student daytime bar. The last few years, la Guignette bacame the main
after-class student gathering place at the end of the day especially on
Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights where the place is totally packed.
A unique gathering place definitely worth visiting.
